Reflection Time!

So, I'm sure, like the rest of you, I am taking this opportunity to vent about my hatred of the Issues Paper. Unfortunately these aren't going away anytime soon. That really puts a damper on things; I know. It really sucked. I wish I would have chosen a better topic that I was more interested in so that the research wasn't so boring. I feel like that would have helped the whole process be better.  Overall, I feel like the help I got was good and made my paper better. I also feel like I got to the part where I just didn't care anymore too. Do the rest of you feel like that? Anyway, I'm glad I won't have to do that again for awhile.

History Is Repeating Itself!

So for my Junior Research Project we had to do a paper very (VERY) similar to this one, and my teacher, Mr. Hoskins, gave us the perfect outline for it. Actually he gave us a very thorough packet with basically a step by step guide to the whole thing, but that 's not the point. On a side note, I'd just like to say, he was probably the best teacher I've ever had in my whole entire life. Anyway, I decided to stick with what worked because, well, it worked! So here it is:

Show the Problem Exists
Causes
Effects
Attempts to Solve
My Solution
Conclusion

I know this is a little different from what we went over in class. Basically this is what it is in class terms:

Intro
Narration
Proof of case
Pathetic Part
(The weird word none of us can say or spell that means the counterpoints)
Argument
Conclusion

It is a little odd that my argument comes at the end, but I feel like this is an effective method, and there will certainly be arguments and reasoning all throughout the paper.

Girls: Even I Don't Get 'Em

The female sex is a complicated specimen. We're crazy! Girls are INSANE! We can be so dumb sometimes, it's ridiculous. I'm not gonna lie, I can see where guys get so confused with us because we're wishy-washy and we confuse ourselves so why do we expect guys to understand us. Half the time I don't know what I'm thinking or feeling. I'm also very hypocritical, but then I call others out when they are. Adding PMS into the equation just escalates it, making it a million times worse. It's like making a sleep deprived, hungry, raving mad person concentrate on a task; it's not gonna happen. Obviously we are not entirely insane, but I feel like a major portion of our brain is dis functional and irrational. Sorry guys. I feel for ya.

As many of you have said, this experience was not a huge help, but it definitely was an experience. I feel like I went to the wrong place though. It was the research lab in the same place we did our library instruction right? Well anyway, I had a very nice guy help me find some better sources for my paper, and, since I kind of switched my topic last minute, he helped me to narrow it down to a solid topic with a specific thesis. One thing he did show me more about was Refworks which was pretty helpful. Other than that, I feel like I would have been fine on my own. Oh well.
